MAY CLUB DAY FEATURE CLASS

This coming May club day the club will be conducting Cadets as a feature class.  This will involve qualifying, conducted by the timed practice session, starting positions for the heats will be determined during practice.  There will be two heats of 8 laps and a final of 15 laps, all points go towards the club championship, but the final only counts on the day.  Special trophies will be awarded and first place will receive a new set of Dunlop SL1's. 

Further feature classes will be offered throughout the year, keep an eye out on this site for future updates.

USE OF CLUB TRANSPONDERS

It is a requirement of all Karters to have their own transponder.  These can be purchased through the VKA by contacting Pam Arnett.  Her contact details can be found via the VKA web site or the currant rule book.  The club has a limited number of transponders they can loan to new karters who are waiting for delivery of there personal transponder.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - CLUB DAY RACE ENTRY FEE INCREASE

Due to increases in VKA fees and club costs, club day race entry fees from April Club Day will be now $40 per race entry.

APRIL CLUB DAY

After the success of Sportsman Over 40's @ 180kg, at the Val and Joyce. This will now be the class and weight offered at club days instead of Pro at 170kg.

This coming April club day will be the last time for this year that Junior National Light and Heavy will be offered as individual classes. Commencing may Club day, Junior National Pro@130kg will be offered instead. 

With Mother's Day around the corner, purchase a drink from the coffee stand this coming April Club Day for a chance to win something special for you and Mum to share.

VAL & JOYCE FINDLAY MEMORIAL

Thanks to all the volunteers and officials who made the Val & Joyce Findlay a huge success.  A special thanks goes out to Anita Lowerson from The Go Kart Club of Victoria for confirming race entries and timing for the event.  Also Carolyn Hopkinson from The Morwell Go Kart Club for being our Grid Marshall.

CLASS CHANGES FOR CLUB DAY

Due to lack of entries and the class not forming Clubman Light will no longer be offered on Club Days.  Those wishing to run Clubman will need to run in Clubman Heavy at 160kg. 

Following the response to the expressions of interest for Sportman Over 40's, this will now be offered on Club Day as Sportsman Over 40's Pro at 170kg.

Tag Restricted Light & Heavy will now be run as Sportsman Restricted Light & Heavy under the VKA rules.  Full class listings as below.

 

CLASSES TO COMPETE IN 2012 GEELONG CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP  -   ****IMPORTANT NOTICE****

After much consideration and in a effort to have a more structured approach to the season the following classes will be offered in the 2012 Geelong Kart Club Championship. 

1.   Cadets

2.   Rookies

3.   Junion National Light

4.   Junior National Heavy

5.   Junior Clubman/Junior Performance/Junior Max  ( Combined )

6.   Clubman Light

7.   Clubman Heavy

8.   Sportsman Restricted Light

9.   Sportsman Restricted Heavy

10.   Sportsman 125 Light

11.   Sportsman 125 Heavy

12.   Open Performance

 

Weights will be as per the 2012 AKA Manual.  Classes with less than 5 starters will be combined with another class where possible.   We are unable to offer Rotax and Leopard separate as per the rules of the AKA/VKA in 2012 on a clubday.  Leopard drivers or Rotax drivers wanting to test on their class drivers are eligible to double enter in the open performance class for example.
